Comme des Garçons, White Drama exhibition

White Drama is the name of Comme des Garcons ss 2012 collection, a conceptual  monochrome vision of the four stages of life: birth, marriage, death and transcendence.
Architectural shapes reveal capes, wedding gowns, cocoons, head pieces and flower adornments.

The installation of the dreamlike collection housed by Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris, is grouped in giant clear plastic bubbles, each telling a story envisioned by designer Rei Kawakubo.

‘I was interested to put the clothes of this collection in a different environment to the show. I thought about making a second space within the existing as it was a new space of the city of Paris’ (Rei Kawakubo).

Comme des Garçons White Drama is curated by Olivier Saillard, director of Galliera Museum.
Scenography by the founder and designer of Comme des Garçons, Rei Kawakubo.
The exhibit runs until October 7th at Les Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design, 34 Quai d’Austerlitz,  Paris.
